The MGS Series TUSL Shaftless Takeups are engineered and constructed for many years of trouble free service.

The Takeups have the same frame, the same capacity, and the same user-friendly features as the popular MGS POSL Shaftless Payoffs.

Our Takeup line includes seven sizes accommodating reels from 20" to 120" in diameter and from 12" to 84" in outside width.  An outstanding feature is the extremely broad range of reels that each size machine will accept.

Centering Of Reels
All reels are centered on the wire line to minimize cable deflection.

Lift Arm Travel
Arms move up, down, open, and close by pushbutton.  Controls are provided at each side for operator convenience. 

Construction Details
The machine frame is of steel plate and tube welded into a rigid structure.  Lift arms are of rectangular steel tubing to provide exceptional strength in bending and torsion.  Anti-friction bearings are used on all rotating shafts.  Reel support pintles are case hardened to resist wear.

Traverse
The traverse mechanism utilizes a ball screw, magnetic clutches, and an infinity variable speed changer.  Guide rollers are ball bearing equipped and adjustable for changes in cable diameter.  Traverse stroke is infinity adjustable.

Electrical Equipment
Controls are housed in a NEMA 12 enclosure with a disconnect switch.  These include a starter for the hydraulic pump motor, 110 volt control transformer, and a DC power supply for the traverse clutches.  Input is 460/3/60 unless otherwise specified.

Safety Features
Arms will move only when pushbuttons are held down.  Elevated reels are locked in position by a pilot operated check valve on each cylinder.  Reels are lowered by gravity at a controlled rate and cannot be forced against the floor.  Arms can be stalled in any direction without harm to the machine.

The pintle drive is enclosed within one of the tubular lift arms.

Machine Finish
Machines are cleaned, primed, and spray finished with a tough machinery enamel.

Rapid Traverse
A power driven rapid traverse permits quick correction in cable lay during winding.

Digital Traverse
A digital traverse permits selection of lay before winding begins.  Rapid traverse is included with this option.

Shaftless Payoffs
The MGS Group offers a complete line of Shaftless Payoffs to complement the TUSL Series Takeups.  Machines of a given size share the same frame and therefore have the same capacity and dimensions.  Payoffs can be supplied driven or non-driven to suit all applications.
