Moveable Arm Dual Automatic Takeup

DESCRIPTION:

The MGS / HALL 40 or 48-inch Moveable Arm Dual Automatic Takeup system is designed for a primary coax extrusion line. Ask our Sales Department for a demo CD or video.

Its major components include two Moveable Arm Takeups, a Dancer/Accumulator, an automatic traversing system with a product cutter, a Length Counter, and control system.

The two Takeups are the standard HALL designed moveable arm style, housed in a single frame and can be modified to meet Customer requirements. The reel flange diameter and width are only limited by the Takeup size specified. Our Dual Automatic Takeup system can be set up to run two different reel sizes on each Takeup simultaneously because the control system adapts to the traverse requirements or switchback requirements automatically.

The Accumulator capacity is governed by the line speed and switching time required to change reels.

This system is efficient and easy to use. The operator can remove the first reel from the spindle at any time after the product is cut and before the second reel is full.

FEATURES:

Digital Traverse

The digital traverse control system allows the operator to set the product diameter directly on the operator interface. This system greatly facilitates set up in addition to giving an improved traverse lay. A rapid traverse is furnished that allows the traverse to be moved to one side for starting purposes. It can also be used to override the unit while running.

Automatic Reel Transfer

The product transfer process is gentle on the product. No scrap is generated from bottom end damage that can occur with parallel axis snagging Takeups. Currently the bottom end of the product is flush with the start hole.

Operator Friendly

All necessary information is available to the operator for monitoring or adjustment as needed such as current length, preset length, line speed, traverse setting, reel almost full warning, drive status, current, maintenance information, speed, calibration inputs, PLC IO status, and error alarms.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
Tension Monitoring Load Cells Precision load cells are mounted on the sheaves. The entrance load cell monitors tension from the Accumulator. The exit load cell monitors Takeup winding tension. Tension readout and calibration screens are provided in the product recipe system on the system touchscreen.	Automatic Scrapping Section The automatic scrapping section acts as a third spindle. It consists of a high-speed servo driven Vertical Caterpillar Capstan with self-feeding guide and scrap chute. The traverse shuttle moves to this position and feeds the scrap into the Capstan as it would to a reel. Scrap is fed into a scrap box supplied by the Customer.
