AUTOMATIC TAKEUP - DUAL STATION |
|
The MGS / HALL Fully Automatic Takeups for on-line or off-line packaging are ideally suited
for popular packaging sizes of products such as THHN, NMB, category, coaxial cable, tubing, hose and optical
fiber cable.
Our state of the art integrated mechanical design and controls system precisely winds a wide variety of products
and reels. This system is easy, efficient and productive to use.
|
 |
|
Major system components typically include a Dancer and/or Accumulator, CAT 150 Length
Counter, and Fully Automatic Traversing Reel Takeup.
Our Fully Automatic Takeups load empty reels, start the product on the reel, wind, stop at length, cut, wrap and
unload the completed packages, all automatically.
|
Entrance and exit conveyors are set at a fixed ergonomic height from the floor. The two
Takeup spindles are precision pintle-type traversing reel style to provide a superior wind on round and flat
products.
The reels are loaded, wound, unloaded and stacked all in the vertical orientation, thus eliminating the need for
complicated mechanisms to "flip-flop" the reels into and out of a horizontal winding position.
|
| FEATURES: |
|
Automatic Reel Transfer
The cable transfer process is gentle on the product. The Takeup stops, automatically cuts, and transfers to the
next reel. The process is virtually 100% reliable, and can provide a useable inner end for testing. No
scrap or bottom end damage is generated which often occurs with parallel axis snagging Takeups.
Product And Reel Recipe System
A fully interactive recipe system allows the operator to set up packages once and store the settings for future
use. Reproduce them later with the touch of a button.
|
Entrance And Exit Conveyors
The standard entrance and exit conveyors each hold five spools.
Custom length and configuration is available.
Control System
The PLC, drives, and control components will be mounted in NEMA-12 enclosures with door disconnect switch within
the Takeup frame.
A color touchscreen sets all the system parameters via a recipe system.
|
|
Digital Traverse Control
The digital traverse control system allows the operator to set all product traverse settings in the recipe
system.
Production Flexibility
The Takeup will run all types of reels from 10-inch to 18-inch diameter. The system can be set up to run
off-line, on-line, and a combination of both off-line and on-line; as well as from multiple extrusion lines.
With the proper Accumulator, the system can switch from the Automatic Takeup to a Master Reel Takeup or an
Automatic Coiling machine on-the-fly at full line speed.
|
Operator Friendly
All necessary information is available on a touchscreen. For most operations, the operator only selects
the appropriate reel and product combination. Should a problem occur, comprehensive alarm and maintenance
screens are provided.
PLC Remote Access Modem
An external modem with PLC interconnect cable is included to remotely communicate with the PLC. The
provides access by telephone for monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading the PLC software program.
|
|
Automatic Stretch Wrapping
A positive automatic stretch wrap applicator is provided at each winding station. The starting end of the
wrap is positively pinched under the end of the product just prior to the end of the winding cycle. The
wrap can be either in a single band over the end of the product or traversed to cover the entire product
surface. The amount and type of wrapping is set by the product recipe system. A sensor is used to
signal the operator to change the stretch wrap roll when close to empty.

ReelBOT Automatic Combination
Depalletizing And Palletizing System
This system uses a robotic jib crane style Depalletizer / Palletizer. One pallet of empty reels is
positioned behind the entry conveyor and one empty pallet is positioned behind the exit conveyor. The PLC
directs the three-axis picking device to remove empty reels from the pallet and load onto the entrance conveyor
and remove full reels from the exit conveyor and load in a programmable pattern onto a pallet. A recipe
system stores the pallet patterns.
