Cantilever Shaft Dual Automatic Takeup

HALL Industries family of Cantilever Shaft Dual Automatic Takeups for on or off-line packaging are ideally suited for popular packaging sizes of products such as THHN, NMB, Category, Coaxial Cable, or Fiber.

Our dynamic traverse system can precisely wind a wide variety of products and reels.

The major components include an Accumulator and/or Dancer, CAT 150 Length Counter, and Cantilever Shaft Dual Spindle Traversing Reel Takeup.

The two Takeup spindles are the standard cantilever shaft traversing reel style housed in a single fabricated steel frame. The spindles are set at a fixed ergonomic height from the floor.

Our Dual Automatic Takeup system can use an Accumulator for continuous operation while the Takeup stops, automatically cuts, and transfers to the next reel.

The process is virtually 100% reliable, and can provide an inner end for testing with no product end damage or scrap.

This system is efficient and easy to use. The operator can remove the first reel from the spindle at any time after the product is cut and before the second reel is full. A Lexan sliding door automatically opens when a full reel is ready to be removed.

Digital Traverse
The digital traverse control system allows the operator to set the product diameter directly on the operator interface. This system greatly facilitates set up in addition to giving an improved traverse lay. A rapid traverse is furnished that allows the traverse to be moved to one side for starting purposes.

PLC Remote Access Modem
An external modem with PLC interconnect cable remotely communicates with the PLC located in the main electrical enclosure.

This provides remote access for monitoring, trouble-shooting, and upgrading the PLC software program.

It can also be used to override the unit while running.

Automatic Reel Transfer
The cable transfer process is gentle on the product. No scrap is generated from bottom end damage that can occur with parallel axis snagging Takeups.

Operator Friendly
All necessary information is available to the operator for monitoring or adjustment as needed such as current length, preset length, line speed, traverse setting, reel almost full warning, drive status, current, maintenance information, speed, calibration inputs, PLC I/O status, and error alarms.

Tension Monitoring Load Cells
Precision load cells are mounted on the sheaves. The entrance load cell monitors tension from the Payoff Accumulator. The exit load cell monitors Takeup winding tension. The tension readout and calibration screens are provided in the product recipe system on the system touchscreen.

Powered Reel Downender
And Exit Conveyor
A powered reel downender can be added to the exit end of the reel table to take the full reels from a vertical position and lay them horizontally onto a powered roller conveyor.

Automatic Scrapping Section
The automatic scrapping section acts as a third spindle. It consists of a high speed vertical caterpillar capstan with self-feeding guide and scrap chute. The traverse shuttle moves to this position and feeds the scrap into the capstan as it would to a reel.

Scrap is fed into a scrap box supplied by the Customer.
